Director of Business Development – Client Services

 

Reporting to the VP of Account Relations, the primary function of the Director of Business Development – Client Services is to manage assigned key client relationships and drive business growth through strategic, customer-focused business development activities delivered in accordance with organizational objectives.

This includes developing and maintaining a professional and trusting relationship with assigned Client, understanding the client’s requirements, and pro-actively administering and implementing strategic and tactical application of all Client Services initiatives to propel the organization toward its goal of exemplary customer service.  This position is also responsible for revenue growth by nurturing and leveraging current relationships, building new ones and establishing and executing strategic objectives to lead the pursuit of new or expansion business.

Major Job Functions:

  • Build professional, trusting relationship with assigned client; understand the client’s requirements; set and manage client’s expectations.
  • Partner with all levels of management both internally and externally.
  • Serve as a leader and role model to drive superior customer service, which will support and enhance the overall client experience.
  • Manage Account Consultant and or Administrator assigned to client and perform such hands-on day-to-day duties as necessary to ensure that all Client Services goals and responsibilities are met.
  • Maintain a constant awareness of customer activities, analyzing customer requirements, and recognizing when additional or new services may assist customers in achieving their business objectives.
  • Proactively identify and develop profitable new and/or additional business opportunities through leveraging existing relationships at the client site, building a network of new contacts and selling the advantages of AmeriFleet Transportation solutions.
  • Establish and execute strategic objectives related to new services and/or prospective customers.
  • Work closely with internal resources and team members to resolve account issues in a timely and accurate manner, develop solutions that are effective on a long-term basis, develop strategies and provide the resources conducive to business growth and achieving company goals.
  • At all times, represent AmeriFleet in a professional manner by maintaining appropriate relationships with clients and conducting oneself in alignment with AmeriFleet’s policies and procedures. Demonstrate organizational values and ideologies in all customer interactions using sound business judgment.

 

QUALIFICATIONS
 
Skills:   This position requires an enthusiastic, energetic team player that possesses a unique combination of outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with employees at all levels of the organization, excellent organizational and analytical abilities.  Also essential is a creative and innovative mindset oriented to identifying, developing, and closing opportunities that leverage AmeriFleet’s expertise to deliver solutions for customers.

A self-starter with solid business acumen, sound business judgment and strategic thinking as it relates to business development is necessary. Must have impeccable client-facing skills including verbal presentations and written documentation with executive–level interface selling to C level, Vice Presidents and Directors.

Strong, ethical leadership skills and the ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-changing environment that requires a high degree of multi-tasking with minimal supervision is necessary.  Must possess an entrepreneurial spirit and a strong orientation to customer service.

Experience:   To perform successfully in this position, it will be necessary to have 7 – 10+ years of general business experience with direct customer contact, preferably in fleet management.  An understanding of customer service delivery techniques and problem-solving methods is also required.  Must have demonstrated interest and ability in building alliances, partnerships and new business relationships with current and potential clients, and successful experience in developing and executing innovative approaches to selling services. 

Education:      Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field is preferred. Knowledge of database systems, word processing, and basic spreadsheet development in a Windows environment is also required

  • Frequent use of hands and arms.
  • Continuous sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent identification of letters, numbers, and symbols in a technology environment.
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.

Approximately 35% domestic travel is a requirement.
